May Day long weekend saw us lounging about at Worldmark Resort, Calundra. We were lucky to score a weekend away courtesy of my folks, so to take full advantage of the weekend away, we invited Jen, Tony & Cooper along. The apartment was tiny, only a 1 bedroom.
We were living on top of each other, but we managed! Cooper slept in the hall way in his port-a-cot, Chey & I shared the main room & bed, which was only cordoned off from the lounge room with wooden doors on rollers. Jen & Tony scored the fold out couch, but early on the first morning saw them lifting the mattress off the couch and onto the floor! Apparently they were sick of their feet being higher than their heads :) all added to the fun!
It was a lovely couple of nights. Jen, Tony & Cooper picked Chey up from school on the Friday and I drove up afterwards. The resort had a fantastic Pool which we spent hours in, a games room which Chey & Tony spent a fair amount of time in (Tony more than Chey :)) and we had a lovely dinner at a homely cafe on the main drag Saturday night.
It is amazing how just being away from your normal rountine & the knowledge that you don't have to do washing, clean the house or be anywhere in particular makes you feel like you are on holidays! We all enjoyed just hanging out, reading our books (Cooper loved Chey reading to her!), midday sleeps and swimming in the pool.
